AI Use and Disclaimer
Effective date: 19 August 2026
This notice explains how Yacht Masters Hub ("YMH") uses artificial intelligence and the limits of that use. It is incorporated into the Terms of Service. This is the highest risk area of the product because the assistant discusses equipment, safety items, and regulatory topics.
1. You are interacting with AI
The YMH assistant is powered by a third party large language model (Anthropic, PBC (Claude)) and by catalog lookups (VesselIQ, operated by Yacht Masters Hub). When you use it, you are interacting with an automated system, not a human expert.
2. AI output is informational only
AI generated content, including vessel data, equipment suggestions, safety items, and any regulatory or compliance statements, may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or wrong. It is provided for convenience and drafting support only. It is not professional, legal, regulatory, safety, or marine survey advice, and you must not rely on it as such.
You are responsible for independently verifying any information before acting on it, in particular:
- required safety equipment and its condition,
- regulatory, flag, and inspection requirements,
- vessel specifications and equipment fitted to a specific hull.
Confirm safety and regulatory matters with a qualified marine professional, surveyor, or the relevant authority.
3. Verified vs suggested content
The assistant may label content as suggested or unverified (for example, drawn from public sources or model knowledge). Treat all such content as a draft to review. Items are only reliable once you have confirmed them against the vessel's own build or handover documentation.
4. What data goes to the AI
To answer you, the content of your prompts and relevant record data may be sent to Anthropic, PBC (Claude). We contract with the provider under data protection terms and, where available, opt out of the use of your data to train their models. Do not paste sensitive personal data into the chat unless necessary.
5. Human confirmation
For safety and compliance relevant records, the Service requires you to review and confirm AI proposed items before they are saved and treated as part of your records. Applying a proposal is your decision, not the AI's.
6. No autonomous action
The assistant proposes changes for your approval. It does not take binding or irreversible actions on your behalf without your confirmation.
7. Limitations and errors
AI systems can produce errors or "hallucinations", and third party lookups can fail or return incorrect data. We do not guarantee availability or accuracy of AI features. Report suspected errors to ai@yachtmastershub.com.
